A shot of El Jaleo by John Singer Sargent that I snuck at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum seconds before a guard politely told me that pictures were not allowed.  I love Sargent: something about the abstract luminosity and refinement of his style attracts me viscerally.  There's a decorous misbehavior yearning to break free in the dignified air of his work.  El Jaleo is no exception.
