Everydub Style Inspiration

HOME IS WHERE THE ♡ IS
Have you ever wondered what the apartments of our fashion stars could be like and what the interiors would look like? Quench your thirst and satisfy your curiosity. Taschen has recently published "New Paris Interiors", a book which gathers together a selection of apartments owned by famous Parisians such as French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld, shoemaker Christian Louboutin, gallerists Philippe Jousse and Didier and Cleménce Krzentowski, fashion designer Rick Owens, and many more of the city’s most interesting personalities. They have opened their doors to us. The result is incredible, a true snapshot of the tastes of exclusive Paris. This is a must buy book.

One of the most surprising and unexpected homes for me would have to be Carine Roitfeld's: it breathes minimalism and clean lines. The look is resolutely stark and ... dare I say it ... cold. It is a little bit tough and there are no soft edges. Rather uninteresting in my opinion. The colour scheme is bland, there are no personal touches and no signs of anyone living there. I felt disappointed and almost let down. This is certainly not what I expected from a woman who has always been a significant source of inspiration.
And what's with the strange almost monolith like object in the middle of that hallway? A homage to Kubrick's Space Odyssey?
