Stripes are back...its fortunately not going down the nautical path but most certainly going down the more sleek, modern path. Its all about bold, wide stripes in monochrome and brights this Spring/Summer 2013 in boxy structured shapes. Designers at New York Fashion, London Fashion  Week and so forth all translated the trend in their own way, some took it in a purely modern way like Alberta Ferretti and some made it a little more street and girl like to keep it feminine like Marc Jacobs and Emerson. 
Today I wanted to break the trend down starting from the catwalk and then moving towards to the street. Its interesting to see how a trend evolves and changes from the catwalk to the fashion lovers translating the trends to make them individually wearable and unique. Its so evident right now that standing out and making the ultimate statement is so on the focus for fashionistas and stripes is going to be the go-to trend to bring out our own style announcements. 
The way I will be wearing stripes this coming Spring/Summer will definitely be in the more sleek and minimalist sense. Mixing monochrome, orange, pink neon, yellow all together...going a little around the round the bend!

The stripe trend is somewhat still fresh on the street but here is how I feel that the trend has gone from the catwalk to the street...so far...I'm sure there is some much more to look forward over the next couple of months.
