GEAR | The Citroën Méhari
Photo of a trio of hippies with a 1968 Méhari via Love & Light.

If a VW Thing, a Land Rover Defender, a Jeepster and a golf cart all got mixed together, then maybe the output would be something like the Citroën Méhari. The French utility car and off-roader was built between 1968 and 1988 and used by The French Army and The Irish Defense Forces, as well as by awesome civilians. They were imported in the United States for just one year in 1970, but only 214 were sold, so they're crazy rare. They look so fun, but just be careful, the US-versions didn't come standard with seat belts.
