Q&A | Meg Callahan
Meg Callahan is an Oklahoman, a RISD grad, a textile and furniture designer, and I'd consider her a beacon of the next generation of American Craftswomen. Her work has been featured in T Magazine and Dwell and it's all truly breathtaking. I'm dying for one of her fabric prints. Lucky for Los Angeles, it sounds like she may be moving west soon. Lucky for this blog, her Q&A is below, and it's a really good one.If not in Providence, RI, I would live in...Santa Fe, New Mexico for the colors, Oklahoma City for family, and Honolulu, Hawaii for the shave ice.
My dream holiday would be to...go somewhere. Do a hike that totally pushes my body, and has a great view. Eat life-changing food.
My current obsessions are...

Fashion: A basic button up, and lots of rings.
Retail Stores: Leif, Kiosk, Matter and anywhere that stocks Pamela Love.
Food: There is nothing I love more than sinking my teeth into a fresh French baguette.
Music: Maybe I'm a few years late, but Lauryn Hill.
I channel my childhood self when I...am making things, and during snow days.
The fictional character I most relate to is..Rory Gilmore (but only from seasons 1-3).
If I had to be outdoors all day I would...go on a beautiful bike ride. Swim in a watering hole. Finish it with a drive-in movie.
My favorite quality in a man is...genuineness.
My favorite quality in a woman is...confidence.
I'm terrified of...losing a sense.
My dream car is...a Toyota Trekker.
My cocktail of choice is...I recently tried a drink at a restaurant that I have since been dreaming about. Kalimotxo: it is red wine and Coca-Cola served with LOTS of ice (the ice is key—it has to be that wonderful, smallcrushed ice that sponges the beverage inside it) served in a thin metal cup. Mmmm.
My celebrity crush is...John Cusack in Better Off Dead, and Milo Ventimiglia.
My beauty product of choice is...Moroccan Oil. I have insanely curly hair that I have spent years trying to understand—Moroccan Oil has brought me to that balance of tame and unruly that confident curly hair requires. (One trait that makes me a tomboy, is that I hate fussing over 'beauty stuff'—natural is my motto. There is nothing better for beauty than drinking water, eating quality food, and being physically active).
My friends and I like to...brunch at the farmer's market, play Catan, go the beach and have craft time.
If I could go back in time for one decade it would be...I think it would have been fun to be a pioneer woman--I attribute this to playing Oregon Trail (the Apple II version) in elementary school.  As a teenager I was totally into...making clothes. I wore some weird stuff in middle school.
I tend to splurge on...food and scissors.
My sick woodworking skills, and my boyfriend's closet...is what makes me have Tomboy Style!
