Milan Men's Fashion Week, Day 3
Milan Men's Fashion Week is almost at an end, with Day 3 offering shows from John Richmond, Gucci, Etro, Canali, Umit Benan, Fendi, Brioni, Belstaff and Moschino. The best collections from the day were Dirk Bikkembergs Sport Couture, Z Zegna and Emporio Armani.
Dirk Bikkembergs Sport Couture Autumn/Winter 2013High fashion and functional sports/work wear is the specialization of Dirk Bikkembergs, and their ability to choose colours for a collection are no doubt bold and beautiful. The pops of orange, green, canary and violet adds and textured material choice add fun and versatility to a collection filled with mostly masculine garments in neutral tones. Even with the added flare, the brights and weird but wonderful fabrics are placed strategically so as not to disturb the masculinity of the collection.

Z Zegna Autumn/Winter 2013The contrast between the collections of Ermengildo Zegna and Z Zegna are astounding. For a label to execute a tailored, bespoke line and an every day, casual line is often difficult, and with the showing of Z Zegna's Fall/Winter 2013 collection, it has only affirmed the label's ability to start trends in different fashion streams. The collection is warm and inviting, especially with the true Winter colour palette of stark blacks, blinding reds, oxblood and chocolate brown. The minimalist garments' humble aesthetic are made dynamic with the addition of subtle pinstripes and diamond patterns in the trending colour of oxblood. This collection is one for the peaceful gentlemen that wants to express his mantra stylishly.

Emporio Armani Autumn/Winter 2013

Armani Prive was once again flocked with fashion media and buyers anticipating the showing of Emporio Armani. The collection offered a mix of looks for every male "fashionisto", with a myriad of jackets, blazers, trousers and shoes in a variety of colours including desert brown, chalky grey, navy and midnight blue, and wine reds. The variety of choice did not end there, with these pieces also in different textural fabrics such as suede, reptilian leather, silk, nylon and of course cotton. Amongst all the variety, the show stayed true to its brooding atmosphere yet managed to show off the variety in styled looks complementing each and every fabric and colour.
