Everydub Style Inspiration
There is really so much to say about the prints that she has created for her 2012 Ready-to-Wear collection but at the same time they all completely speak for themselves. Mary has definitely been inspired by the biggest challenge of our time...Man vs Nature.
With virtually every design in her collection, I could utterly fall into a dream world because there so much beautiful detail, inspiration and symbolism to her creations. The way Mary, juxtaposes immense magnified prints of feathers, flowers, tropical birds, vibrant tones like canary yellow against todays ever growing obsession of modern construction and production using actual bolts is so natural and flowing. I keep asking myself why has she combined that colour with that colour or how on earth has she created such flattering forms by making the form of her designs so complicated and rigid but so smooth not only with numerous prints but also with the way she cut the fabrics.
A perfect example of this is the dress in the first image below. Wow, there is so much going on with this dress, from the very start to the very finish. Beginning off with a multi/round/peter pan collar, echoing tones, hawaiian flower, palm leaf like to magnifying ball print effects, to one shoulder cut off and the other elongated ending off with a almost carved belt like feature around the waist.
