The staged beauty of Alex Prager's photographs is captivating.  Her shots of women appear to be film stills in the stylized mode of Alfred Hitchcock (see Eve for a The Birds moment).  Ranging from theatrical to kitsch to sexy, they all have quite a glossy, glamorous perfection with enough retro eerieness to keep things interesting.  Prager's work can be seen this fall in MoMA's "New Photography 2010" exhibition.
