CTFC STARTS FASHION INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
The CTFC Fashion Education Sub-committee launched its first initiative last week by releasing an invitation to industry players within the local fashion industry to facilitate internships.

This programme will assist Western Cape fashion students to get easy and structured access to the local industry including retailer, manufacturer, fashion media and fashion design houses. Fashion Universities and schools which are forming the Fashion Education Subcommittee are asked to identify and forward potential internship candidates to the CTFC. The council will than facilitate a matchmaking process for students and the industry.

Bryan Ramkilawan, CPUT academic and Subcommittee Chairperson says: ”One of our key mandates is to nurture up and coming talent. The CTFC is supporting fashion design students with exceptional talent in the Western Cape in getting access to internships within the industry. At the same time the industry will have the opportunity to access potential future employees through the programme. The CTFC especially formed an education subcommittee to drive this unique initiative.”

Participating tertiary institutions include:

CAPE TOWN COLLEGE OF DESIGN
CAPE PENINSULA UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
