Every Fashion DayToday the weather was autumnal to perfection: sunny with a crisp wind. But my enthusiasm for this gorgeous London day was slightly dampened at the thought of leaving my beloved Mac at the Genius bar of the Apple shop for ... two ... whole ... weeks. Such an intense emotional response to something which might seem trivial to a lot of people is entirely valid to me. My computer is essentially a mini extension of "me". I work on my Mac from 8 am to 6 pm, I store my innumerable pictures in iPhoto, I use it to blog, Skype and Facebook my friends, in other words I cherish it and feel like my mind will rot like an old apple in the garden of England without it... In the meantime, my eye will just have to get used to my boy's Mac and I will have to try to forget the "shaking my Innocent strawberry smoothie over my keyboard when the lid was open" scenario! This embarrassing piece of information I had promised myself to keep hidden. A few hours later and here I am following the trail of Paris shows on another Mac and looking at Dries Van Noten's latest collection on Style.com. The new and more static direction of his pieces has blown me away. More graphic, focusing on black and white instead of the usual explosion of florals, wearable and modern, this fresh new concept is just simply right and super chic. The silhouettes were loose but sophisticated. One of the best shows so far! Join the Dries fan club ...
