MARC JACOBS, Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson and Karl Lagerfeld are among the fashionable faces taking part in a new initiative from the Heart and Design organisation to raise funds for the Royal Brompton Hospital.

Known for their ability to push the boundaries, each designer will create a one-off piece or prototype to go on show to the public from September 13, during London's fashion and design week, before being auctioned at Christie's on September 15.

Also lending a hand to the project are Kelly Hoppen, Roland Mouret and Amanda Levete — with all proceeds going towards buying equipment for the hospital, which is the largest specialist heart and lung centre in the UK.
