Day 1: Durban Fashion Week Report Back
WOW WOW WOW!!!!...That's what I have to say to explain what I thought of the opening night to Durban Fashion Week. Every aspect of the night was amazing!. I arrived at the Sundeck at Suncoast Casino and got handed my full media pass from Hunt Lascaris. From that point onwards I was so excited because I had access everywhere and anywhere I desired, from the Runway to backstage to the VIP Media Lounge where all the designers were hanging out!.

I got the opportunity to meet some awesome designers like Paul Botha from Ruff Tung, Terence Bray*, Bekky Buekes*, Teresa Jobert, Stephen Van Eeden aswel as the Editor of Elle*.I attended the Opening Show which was the Young Designers show. Overall I was impressed by what they created for their collections because if you think about it they are young designers and they did the Opening show to Durban Fashion Week, there was allot of pressure on them to perform at their best and that takes alot of courage!

I have to admit one of the highlights of the Opening Show was sitting next to Gideon, Jody Stinton and Jean-Paul. It was wonderful to see them again and have the chance to catch up with them. Jody Stinton, who is a former South African model and now Fashion Stylist was looking as beautiful as ever in a stunning Black LBD, her unique looks will never fade! As for Gideon, I love Gideons work, he always somehow blows my mind with his collections year after year. Sadly he isn't showing his collection this year, because he is submitting his collection for London Fashion Week this September. I truly believe that he will get in and astonish the fashion industry over there with his amazing creative mind!. I wish him all the best because he deserves it. I'm very proud to say that he created my matric dance dress and will be treasuring it forever because when he will become famous and hugely in demand all over the world, I'm going to be so proud to say that I personally own a Gideon creation.

After the Opening Show I mingled with loads of people, got a glass of wine, took loads of photos of people in their individual styles. I also made my way backstage before the Ruff Tung and Leigh Schrubert show. Being backstage was very cool.Witnessing the chaos, excitement and getting ready process was awesome. Also chilled with friends of mine ilana and Shani backstage. Shani modeled for Ruff Tung last night so we kept her company while she was waiting for her fitting for the show!.

Around 8.45pm I watched the Ruff Tung and Leigh Scrubert show with friends of Ilana, Dino and Ravi. Dino and Ravi are fashion students here in Durban and are soon to be the hot up and coming young designers in SA! The Ruff Tung and Leigh Scrubert show was very good, I enjoyed it very much. I will be putting up a separate full review of the Ruff Tung and Leigh Schrubert show later today.

It now DAY 2 of Fashion Week and I'm all excited to get back to my little adventure and be part of the pandemonium!.

I hope all of you ladies enjoyed yourself as much as I did!!

Much Love mwa xxx
