The actress, who is starring in an stage run of Terms of Endearment alongside Linda Gray,is fronting an awareness campaign for Eveden, who make of Freya and Fantasie lingerie, to highlight the importance of wearing a correctly fitted bra.

She has spoken previously about a casting director who cruelly said to her agent: "Suranne? Well she's a bit fat and a bit nothing, really."

She later went on to win the part of Karen, which saw her win the Most Popular Actress crown at the National Television Awards just before leaving the show in 2004.
