Braveheart: The singer puts on a brave face as she leaves the jungle - but jungle sweetheart Marc Bannerman fails to keep his promise Cerys, 38, who was "gutted" that Marc had not been there to meet her when she left the jungle, said she was keen to see him again. But she sounded cool about their future: "Marc is a genuine nice guy, very sweet. I had a lot of time for him in there," she said. "Actually, I think it's a very good idea he isn't here. Things in the jungle are intense." Cerys Matthews had admitted she was 'gutted' that jungle sweetheart Marc Bannerman failed to turn up to greet her when she emerged from the jungle on Thursday The Welsh singer was not told that Bannerman would not be there until her post-eviction interview with presenters Ant and Dec.And at one point when his name was mentioned, Cerys appeared to be looking around for him, but then appeared visibly shaken when finally told the news that love-rat Bannerman had remained in London instead of flying to Australia as he had originally promised. In her interview with presenters Ant and Dec, the Welsh singer initially appeared to be ecstatic that she was leaving, claiming she could spend some time with her children. But Cerys's face fell when she found out that Bannerman had chosen not to return to see her, preferring to stay out of the limelight following his break-up with actress Sarah. When faced with a video clip of their time in the jungle Cerys said: "Oh shoot - it's not right is it." "You forget everyone is watching. You forget everything". Ant and Dec then informed her that Marc had to "sort things out" in London. "I'm gutted he's not here" Cerys said. Days after his eviction, Bannerman had told Cerys he would be there in a love letter which brought tears to the singer's eyes. Bannerman's letter, read out on air, said: "There are many problems in London and I have had to go back to try to sort them out but I may well return to greet you when you come out, if that is your wish, Marc." Cerys and Marc flirted up a storm on the show, causing a stir as Bannerman was already heavily involved with Matravers, his girlfriend of two years. Their on-screen romance resulted in his eviction and he eventually moved out of the home he shared with Matravers after claiming he was "in love with two women."Instant attraction: Marc and Cerys in the jungle
